Job Description

To meet all customers’ and business requirements in the most cost effective, professional and timely manner manner whilst achieving a high level of customer service. To provide customers with a quality service for all sales enquiries, quotations, orders, deliveries and associated administration in the most cost effective way for Hanson Quarry Products.

Description of Team / Department

Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role

  • Liaison with ACM/AGM/RD/AOM/CSM and other required sales & operational staff.
  • Compliance with company policies.
  • Efficiently handle customer and haulier enquiries and queries to resolution in a timely manner.
  • Accurately process all admin within given deadlines.
  • Develop knowledge of all roles within the team and provide cover when requested.
  • Link with the area teams and relevant external departments to ensure high level of customer service is maintained, including working within other areas should the need arise.
  • Liaise with the pre planner to ensure fleet is scheduled accordingly.
  • Liaise with production sites and other regional distribution teams to optimize distribution solution (including back-loads between areas).
  • Maintain good working relationships with operational teams and counterparts.
  • Carry out administrative duties associated with this role and any other duties.
  • Receive, log and resolve customer complaints on the Hanson NCR and Complaints system ensuring preventative and corrective measures are put in place

Skills / Experience

Essential:

  • Good level of commitment to customer service and satisfaction
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous planning experience
  • Detailed product knowledge.
  • Understands risks associated with supplying incompatible material
  • Knowledge of construction industry and products
  • Knowledge of local and national geography
  • Daily user of SAP
  • Advanced excel skills

Desirable:

  • Operational knowledge of Hanson marine, its activities and products
  • Operational knowledge of Hanson rail, its activities and products
  • Allocator cycle knowledge and understanding.

Experience

  • Experience – 1 year customer sales/service/operations/transport role
  • Management/ Leadership Skills
  • Proven capability to build effective working relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to use own initiative to improve performance and service.

The role holder is expected:

  • to comply with all aspects of the Hanson Compliance Policy
  • to ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place
  • to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation
  • to update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required
  • to comply will all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company
