Specialist Teacher of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs

£28,000 - £43,685 pro rata per annum plus SEN range £2384 - £4703
Part time - 26 Hours per week (0.80FTE)

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and creative teacher who is highly experienced at meeting the needs of children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and who has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the implications of SEMH for an individual. You will also have relevant experience of working with parents and other professionals and will have worked successfully as part of a team, including multidisciplinary teams.
In this role you will work as part of the Solihull Specialist Inclusion Support Service (SISS) SEMH Team. SISS is a high quality, highly valued local service working closely with Solihull’s maintained schools, academies and settings to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs. Working in the SEMH team you will be allocated a number of schools, both primary and secondary. It will be your role to support the educational development and inclusion of the children referred to the team. The SEMH Team provides a traded service to schools and the work will involve a variety of working scenarios including; individual work, small group interventions, supporting the development of whole school approaches to SEMH and delivering training to a range of audiences. In addition, the team supports children and young people through a variety of commissioned pathways such as pupils at risk of exclusion through the SEMH High Needs pathway, children who are looked after and children and young people with EHC plans.
You will be expected to travel around the Borough of Solihull supporting the schools, children and young people on your caseload.
