My client is seeking a motivated Senior Planning Engineer with expertise in utilizing Primavera P6 to join their dynamic team on a major project based in Cumbria. The Senior Planning Engineer will join an established team and will be responsible for playing a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution and delivery of complex engineering projects. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop, monitor and control project schedules using Primavera P6.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and perform all aspects of project planning and scheduling activities.
• Develop comprehensive project schedules, integrating all project components, resources, and constraints using Primavera P6.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and key milestones.
• Conduct in-depth critical path analysis and identify potential schedule risks and opportunities for optimization.
• Monitor project progress, track actual versus planned performance, and provide timely and accurate reports on schedule variances.
• Mentor and guide junior planning engineers, providing expertise on Primavera P6 functionality and best practices.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to align project plans with resource availability and project objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement by introducing innovative planning techniques and tools to enhance project performance.
• Collaborate with project control teams to develop and implement effective project control processes and procedures.
• Provide expert advice and support in project planning and scheduling matters to project managers

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience as a Planning Engineer, with a proven track record in delivering complex engineering projects.
• Expert proficiency in Primavera P6, with hands-on experience in creating and managing project schedules.
• Strong knowledge of engineering project management principles, methodologies, and industry best practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capability to mentor and guide junior planning engineers.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Professional certifications in project management and Primavera P6 are highly desirable.
