Exciting opportunities for full time Senior, Principal Civil Engineers to join a friendly team. We are looking for a highly skilled Civil Engineers to work for our client, a leading multi-disciplinary practice providing consultancy services in civil and structural engineering from offices across the Yorkshire and Humber region. You would play a key role delivering on projects that play an important role in the everyday lives of people across the region and with some projects across the UK.

This role will suit a highly skilled engineering professional, ideally educated to degree level and either Chartered or working towards that status, able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of construction best practices, latest regulations, legislation and Health and Safety. We anticipate candidates to have had several years experience in a similar role or to be stepping up to the next level. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Offering an attractive basic salary of £45,000 – £55,000 dependent on qualifications and experience plus a fantastic range of benefits commensurate with appointment level.

The Role
You will be managing a number of projects at any one time in a fast-moving environment, with good hands-on design experience. Projects include highways design, commercial and residential drainage design, flood-alleviation works, estate roads and SUDS schemes, as well as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy documents for Planning.

As a Civil Engineer you would be responsible for…
– Assisting in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions etc
– Assisting in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork etc
– Providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
– Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances

The Candidate
– Chartered status or working towards the qualification
– Demonstrable knowledge of highways, sewer and drainage design, flood risk assessments and analysis
– Competence with Civils 3D / Microdrainage
– Able to demonstrate a thorough and sound knowledge of civil engineering and construction best practices
– Able to work independently and use your engineering judgement to tackle day to day problems, delegate tasks and show a desire to develop junior members of the team
– Strong knowledge of latest building regulations, legislation and Health and Safety
– Good communication skills (verbal and written) and able to engage with all stakeholders at all levels
– Excellent attention to detail and meticulous planning and organizational skills
