Quantity Surveyor

£35,000 Per annum

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity surveyor based in the Market Harborough area, with weekly travel to London. A market leading specialist and main contractor operating in the high-end refurbishment sector in and around London, specialising in Fenestration. The company is long established and enjoys an enviable reputation based upon enhancing the UK’s most well-known built assets.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can use their own initiative to prioritise tasks to effectively complete tasks in the required deadlines. You will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial activities across a diverse range of projects, maximising value, margin, and market share and collaborating with Directors and Quantity Surveyors on contractual matters.

The overall management of the site. Ensuring the project reaches successful completion in the required time, budget, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial and Contractual

· Preparing, submitting, and agreeing interim valuations/applications in accordance with contractual dates.

· Costing and agreeing variations and robust follow up to ensure payment.

· Keeping adequate records for the valuing variations and ascertaining loss and/or expense.

· Reviewing subcontract correspondence for delay and loss and/or expense claims

· Advising Site Managers and Directors on delays, extensions of time and loss and/or expense and ensuring relevant notices are issued.

· Reporting on the overall financial position of contracts.

· Assisting with tendering for projects

Experience and Qualifications:

· Previous experience as a quantity surveyor (3-5 Years)

  • HNC, HND or Degree educated in Quantity Surveying (or related discipline)
  • Contractual awareness especially JCT suite.
  • Experience of preparing Extension of Time and loss & expense claims.

· Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be decisive in judgements.

· Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate as part of a team.

· Organised and focused on meeting required targets.
