We have started working on an exciting new opporutnity for a Construction Safety Manager who will be working closely with the Infrastructure Projects and Facilities Management team to ensure the safety of all associated activies for Arriva Rail London.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for the next step in their career, with strong stakeholder management experience who will be the go to safety expert for construction.
You will be responsible for leading the management and coordination of the delivery of project assurance activities such as 'safety validation', 'entering into service' and 'handover into maintenance' liaising closely with Safety Assurance Manager as well as Stakeholders ensuring that all requirements are understood and addressed by the project team.
Ensuring that all safety measures and procedures are met, in line with the current CDM regulations as well as other industry legislation.
Working closely with internal teams to establish construction programmes which maintain a clear process for risk assessment, identifying risk as well as tracking and managing controls and mitigations in alignment with general principles of prevention, and that design risk mitigation information forms an integral part of the design deliverables.
Ensuring that all project documentation relating to Health, Safety & Wellbeing is in place and maintained alongside the correct documentation.
Working closely with the IPFM Manager ensuring accurate reviewing and integration of safety processes with the goal of reducing/ eradicating risk, as well as ensuring that the required information for design has been identified, providing safety advice and guidance on regulations.
To make sure that all Health & Safety files are effectively completed and maintained and that all ARL Site Access Requests and supporting documentation are adequate prior to commencement of works.
Assist the Safety Assurance Manager as required including with risk assessments, project auditing and other associated assurance activities.
NEBOSH Construction Certificate is essential, a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is also desirable as well as CSCS Card, and a PTS/ Sentinel Card.
At least 5 years experience with delivering safety management on railway construction sites.
A keen understanding of railway and environs construction as well as fire safety requirements and Health & Safety in the workplace.
Experience working with occupational health and wellbeing legislative and industry standards.
Comprehensive understanding of current CDM regulations as well as related legislation.
Knowledge of the railway industry and operations.
Ability to advise and coach on regulatory issues, as part of a large organisation.
