Job Description
				 
  As part of the Industrialisation Function within the SMS Global Supply Chain Team the Manufacturing Engineering Leader will be responsible for the coordination and effective running of the Design Support / Rapid Prototyping and PCBA production facility and team. Ensuring the output is in line with NPI and production related requirements and the attainment of goals with respect to safety, quality, cost and compliance. This will involve developing processes that meet the growing and changing Business needs across the Organisation, managing technically complex issues within the functional area of expertise. In addition, be involved in longer term planning and contribute to the overall Business strategy.
 
 
  Essential Responsibilities: 
 
  - Attainment of goals with respect to safety, quality, cost reduction, delivery lead-time, production efficiency, asset utilization and compliance.
-  Lead the function, plan the resources necessary to meet the NPI and ‘ongoing product’ production requirements and balance any conflicting load.
-  Interface closely with other departments organizations and vendors to assure requirements are met on time
-  Implement the Manufacturing plans in line with project requirements
-  Implement production / process improvement programs and provide process method excellence throughout the department and its organization
-  Pursue state of the art technology and processes to enhance production / process capability and deliver quality requirements
-  Structure assigned organization and staff positions with personnel to accomplish business objectives
-  Ensure communication of key business / customer issues to employees and ensure assigned employees are aware/comply with all GE government, customer and applicable policies, procedures, rules and regulations
-  Provide ongoing leadership, supervision, direction and counseling for assigned employees, guiding them in current positions and assisting with career development and training
 Qualifications/Requirements:
 
  -  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (strong preference for Engineering discipline) or equivalent knowledge and experience
-  Technical or engineering experience with electronic component and electronic sub-assemblies PCBA’s.
-  Technical knowledge of automated assembly and validation processes for electronic sub-assemblies
-  Strong Process oriented individual having ability to analyze and make improvements
-  Proven facilitation and team leading skills
-  Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills, customer focused, enthusiastic.
-  Ability to work effectively across functions, prior experience of developing and leading a team or significant multidisciplinary project. Proven mentoring and coaching abilities, demonstrating ability to motivate & inspire others.
 Desired Characteristics:
 
  -  Six Sigma Green Belt Certified preferred.
-  Demonstrable awareness and use of DFM techniques for electronic sub-assemblies.
