Job Description

The successful Senior Payroll Specialist will have proven experience in managing and executing payroll in a fast paced and environment. You will be a Payroll generalist looking after over 2000 hourly and salaried employees, across multiple sites.

About the Role

The successful Payroll Specialist will be accountable for the processing of all monthly Payrolls, ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time, complying with all statutory returns and payment deadlines.

  • Responsible for the processing of full end to end payroll for circa 2000 staff on a monthly basis
  • Processing starters, leavers and contractual variations
  • Pensions process and operations
  • Pension related queries from employees and the reconciling pension contribution reports
  • Assist in resolving payroll and pension queries from managers and employees including P60s and P11Ds
  • Work closely with the Finance team and build strong relationships to ensure everyone has the required information
  • Provide direction and supervision for a junior Payroll Administrator
  • Produce reports and statistics

The Successful Applicant

The successful Payroll Specialist will closely match the following points:

  • Senior Payroll experience
  • CIPP desirable but not essential
  • HMRC reconciliation experience
  • PAYE processes and documentation
  • Pension Regulations and associated reporting and compliance
  • Be self-motivated with a 'can do' attitude
  • Be personable, able to interact and work well internally
  • IT literate including strong Excel and database skills, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint
  • Timeware or other Time & Attendance systems and SAGE 50 UK and Ireland
