The role
 
The role holder will lead the structuring, development and implementation of new, innovative quantitative investment strategies and propositions within individual Retirement Solutions, taking a leading role in the build-out of this new business line, growing market share, making a strong contribution to the long-term cash generation of the Open Business, and helping to deliver on its strategic objectives
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Lead innovation across the full spectrum of challenges that Retirement Solutions division may face extending to product development, structuring, and hedging
Design and implement innovative and market leading quantitative (derivative-based) strategies to maximise the contribution of Retirement Solutions to the Open Business.
Develop and implement individualised investment and long-term savings solutions across client segments through the design of end-to-end processes, infrastructure, investment/product pricing/structuring, and hedging strategies and programs
Draft, review and negociate the complex legal documentation for quantative strategies and investments
Be a leader in driving innovation across the full spectrum of challenges that Retirement Solutions division may face extending to product development, structuring, risk management and hedging
Ensure all investment solutions meet risk, return, balance sheet and Solvency II capital metrics set for the business
 
What we’re looking for
 
The UK retirement market is complex and interconnected. So, as a team, we need to be aware of trends and activity in the wider retirement market to fulfil our role and support our customers.
You will need to be a team player, but we also need you to be an individual: one who is flexible and adaptable but is also able to overcome challenges and do the right thing for the customer.
 
To support this, you should:
 
Have experience designing and implementing derivative-based strategies
Have experience of product development, structuring and hedging, ideally focused on the insurance industry.
Knowledge of Solvency II capital metrics as they relate to investment solutions
Understanding of R, Python, C++ or SQL
Be as confident and as content “reading the rules”, as you are assessing the consequences, developing next steps, communicating ideas, and implementing them.
Be able to develop and maintain communication and relationships at all levels of the Group across different business channels, using your judgement to make good, well informed, decisions and help others to do so.
