Senior Systems Engineer

Role:

The Domain / Senior System Engineer - Beam Generation has system engineering responsibilities for the Beam Generation domain, including: the development of the technical roadmap of the Beam Generation domain across programs; the definition of subsystem requirements-, architecture-, and interfaces specifications, the compliance to medical devices regulations and product standards applicable to the Beam Generation subsystem including safety risk analysis and FMEAs, through the entire product lifecycle.

The job holder collaborates effectively with our, Solution System Engineers, other (Beam Generation) System Engineers and Engineering Development Engineers and our Advanced Development Engineering organization to ensure that the requirements and design of the Beam Generation subsystem fulfil the solution engineering requirements and other relevant DfX requirements or Business needs applicable to the Beam Generation subsystem.

Responsibilities:

• To own the development of the technical roadmap of the Beam Generation domain across programs and contribute as such to the System Engineering roadmap.
• Responsible to provide technical leadership to an interdisciplinary, x-functional, and international team of experts.
• Able to build and maintain a partnership engagement with different stakeholders including product management, supply chain, strategic procurement, and Regulatory Affairs.
• Responsible to plan strategically and ensure the execution of the plan in line with Business priorities.
• To ensure that business relevant DfX (Design for Excellence) criteria are met within the specific domain.
• To perform Technical Design reviews on system- and solution-related design artefacts to achieve a coherent and compliant system design.
• To ensure early collaboration with the Solution System Engineers and System Engineers (especially via early technical design reviews), to achieve a "first-time right" approach to meet quality requirements and minimise costs due to late changes.
• To contribute from a domain body of knowledge to the development of the products.
• To ensure consistency of requirements and implementation across the products.

Required experience:

• Degree in High Power Electrical or Electronics Engineering, RF Engineering/ Physics, or applicable technical/scientific discipline.
• Ability to apply system thinking to product ownership throughout the lifecycle.
• Experienced in the application of system engineering practices.
• Medical sector specific knowledge is desirable, including ISO 13485, IEC 60601.
• Demonstrated aptitude for strategic thinking and problem solving with the ability to implement through others.
• Ability to interpret and apply medical device compliance standards applicable to the domain (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO14971, IEC62304).
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to speak and present publicly.

• Strong in building and maintaining successful and effective working relationships with other colleagues in a global context.
