Skilled Electrical Wiring Operator

You would join as an Electrical Wiring Operator, responsible for manufacturing and self-certification tasks in line with product certification procedures. Location: Bolton - 2 or 3 days per week in office

What to expect:

We are seeking a skilled wire operator to join our Calibration & Maintenance team to fault diagnose and repair bespoke cabling to drawing specifications.

  • Identifying and fixing issues with cable assemblies
  • Repairing surface mount components on CCAs (Circuit Card Assemblies)
  • Maintaining and fixing test/measuring equipment down to the component level
  • Conducting PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) across the manufacturing site
  • Examining drawings to assist in identifying faults
  • Testing safety systems on test and measuring equipment according to established procedures
  • Providing technical support to ensure efficient servicing of specialised test and measuring equipment for production testing and repair phases
  • Keeping the workspace clean and organised
  • Maintaining control over tools and following FOD (Foreign Object Debris) practices
  • Assisting with the maintenance of manufacturing aids as needed

What we need from you:

  • Formal technical engineering/ craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21
  • Formal further education certificate to ONC or equivalent
  • City & Guilds in Electrical Studies Parts 2 & 3 desirable
  • IPC 620 & Dynamic Cabling certified / trained preferred
  • Possess experience in electrical wiring and assembly
  • Previous experience in the aerospace or defence industry would be desirable
  • Manual handling training
