JOB DESCRIPTION

Skilled Inspector, Permanent job, Manchester, North West

As a Skilled Inspector, you will:
Be responsible for dimensionally and visually inspecting products and materials for conformance to specifications, using fixed, pre-set, and/or adjustable measuring instruments. Also responsible for performing a wide variety of inspection and quality control operations through visual, dimensional, and functional techniques; make the necessary critical observations. And completing inspection by thorough and detailed inspection report and documentation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Perform visual and dimensional inspection on components, raw materials, finish goods during manufacturing process or as received in accordance to drawing, purchase order, router, codes, and standards requirement.
o Perform source inspections at site and supplier facilities.
o Make accept/reject decision on inspected products and suggest possible correction when needed.
o Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.
o Review for approval of inspection records and material test report received for compliance.
o Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.
o Create detailed Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) for nonconforming parts.
o Coordinate nonconformity process from opening to closing.
o Ability to perform inspections with RomaArm, CMM and Vici would be desirable
o Understand the calibration requirement and process.
o Follow the calibration maintenance on inspection tools and equipment.
o Travel as and when required.

You will have:

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Time served with a recognized apprenticeship (essential).
EXPERIENCE:
o Working knowledge as quality inspector (essential).
o Full understanding of GD&T (essential).
o Experienced using inspection first principles (Micrometer/ Height gauge/ screw & plus/ Caliper etc.) (essential).

SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:
o Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook) (essential).
o Ability to write technical reports (essential).
o ERP knowledge (desirable).
