Job Description

Due to expansion, there is a new opportunity for an experienced, motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. The independent practice is seeking individuals who are committed to developing and growing both themselves and the clients.

The role is full-time, with 40 hours per week and no out-of-hours or on-call duties. The work schedule follows a 4 x 10-hour days per week rota from Monday to Friday.

The practice focuses on providing excellence in all aspects of pet care and boasts a team with many years of experience and a genuine passion for animal health. They work up cases to a high standard in a progressive, supportive, and cheerful environment. Consultations typically last 15 minutes, although more time is allocated for new pets or complex cases.

The practice is well-equipped with modern facilities, including consultation rooms, prep rooms, theatres, and a ward. They offer in-house ultrasound, laparoscopy, endoscopy, and other advanced procedures, and are willing to provide mentorship in these areas. Their aim is to create an environment that combines clinical excellence with top-notch patient care.

Requirements for the role include a minimum of 2 years of veterinary experience (new graduates will also be considered), registration with the appropriate veterinary body, and the right to work in the country.

A range of benefits is offered, including payment of membership fees, a company pension scheme, a CPD budget, fully funded certificate opportunities, a generous employee discount, additional maternity/paternity/adoption leave, paid breaks, paperwork breaks, annual leave, private medical insurance, and a company car. Sponsorship is also available for candidates from accredited universities.

The independent practice is a family-run, purpose-built modern practice. The team is characterized as fun, energetic, and passionate about veterinary medicine, education, and progression. Currently, they handle a mix of routine and emergency cases, including their own out-of-hours service. The team includes members with postgraduate certificates in advanced surgery and imaging who are also enthusiastic mentors. The practice features a full in-house laboratory, digital X-ray, ultrasound with cardiac probe and scanning table, separate dental suite with dental X-ray, laser therapy, a separate theatre with multiparameter machines, and separate canine and feline wards.

The practice values the importance of providing ample time for consultations, dedicating 15 minutes to each appointment. Additionally, they allocate time for catching up on paperwork.

Work-life balance is a priority for the practice, and they offer flexible working arrangements to ensure that employees can prioritize their families and hobbies.

This position is ideal for progressive first opinion vets seeking challenges and opportunities to pursue further qualifications in a supportive environment with excellent facilities.
