Eastbourne District General Hospital Ward Clerk - Pevensey Day Unit
22.5 Hours per week

Band 2- Salary £20,669- £21,318 per annum, pro rata

Pevensey Day Unit is a busy, Oncology/Haematology day unit that specialises in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy. The team is both friendly and supportive, with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care.

We are looking for a pleasant and caring Ward Clerk to join our efficient and professional team at Eastbourne District General Hospital. You will have experience of dealing with the general public and be able to manage difficult situations. If you have an ability to work calmly under pressure and feel you meet the following requirements: -
  • A good communicator and enjoy meeting people.
  • Possess a polite and caring manner
  • Have a good sense of humour
  • Able to prioritise own workload
  • If you are computer literate, Keyboard skills an advantage, but training will be given.
The post holder will provide a comprehensive multi-faceted, wide range of administrative and clerical duties to the ward to support the Nursing and Medical staff in the smooth day to day running of the unit. They will be responsible for assisting the nursing team in the preparation of treatment lists, dealing with incoming calls and fielding them to the relevant medical professional and other administrative tasks. They will also provide general assistance in the management and adherence of Trust Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) relating to the ward area.
