We have exciting opportunities for a Workforce Planning Manager to join our team

As a Workforce Planning Manager, you’ll be working with the central and operational teams to develop the Workforce Planning Function and produce high quality resourcing plans which meet the needs of the operation.

You will be expected to drive change in the operations you are working on, manage the function with cost leadership in mind, as well as quality of service.

This is a broad mix of hands-on analytics and strategy. It will require an individual that can drive the workforce planning strategy while creating and delivering on the workforce plan.

You will be accountable for:

  • Supporting the network with robust staffing/resourcing plans covering multiple locations across our UK operations network.
  • Driving the headcount request process, utilising our industry leading agency management systems and ensuring the required headcount is fulfilled each day, agencies are managed effectively, and that we are maximising our talent pool by providing adequate notice to agencies.
  • Driving change effectively through partnering with multiple teams (HR, Data, Operations, Performance, Planning, Service), you will ensure that day to day performance across the network is improved through consistent challenging and monitoring of the workforce plan.
  • Developing and maintaining methods for analysing and improving data for all factors relating to workforce planning such as; Productivity/rate, Fulfilment, Workforce Turnover, Absence, Volume, Forecast Accuracy, etc.
  • Taking part in various system projects influencing the network, including shaping decisions around planning software, clock in tools and development of our agency/perm resourcing systems.
  • Utilising and interpreting trend analysis of seasonal and live trend data, ascertaining key messages and documenting improvement actions developed with Performance Managers, Operations Senior Leadership, and Analytics Teams to address challenges, variances, or risk.
  • Providing accurate and timely reporting on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis to share key insights with the leadership team. This includes financial reporting (budgeted headcount) and adherence reporting.

Skills & Qualifications

  • A successful track record in workforce planning in a relevant environment; this might include logistics, retail, or call centre operations, and will include elements of financial forecasting (headcount budget).
  • Experience working with agencies and partnering with HR to understand impact such as workforce turnover, absence etc.
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced excel and database skills and ability to use and shape workforce/volume planning tools and ERP outputs.
  • Good understanding of WFM modules including forecasting and risk management.
  • Problem solving, attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Experience in FMCG logistics, operations Kronos MyHR - desirable
  • Driving Licence
