We’re building on the people-centric, cross-discipline approach that we've developed and will work closely with teams across the organisation and external partners, as we work towards our vision of providing equally positive experiences for everyone.
You'll play a crucial role in bringing teams together around the common goal of improving experiences for people. You’ll have an instinct for seeking out innovative approaches to problem solving, and you’ll put people at the heart of your decision making. This is a challenging role, with a high degree of complex, thoughtful, democratic, people-centric leadership that drives you to achieve successful, useful and meaningful outcomes.
The role is offered on a 2-year fixed term contract or internal secondment basis. Internally this role is known as Visitor Journey Development Manager.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. There will be regular travel to head office and across our regions and countries.
What you'll be doing:You will be a key contact within the organisation for matters relating to access for disabled people. Your main areas of focus will be:
- Sustain the momentum on access improvements for disabled people through existing allocations of funding, working through a network of regional and central leads; developing a pipeline of work required for the future.
- Monitor and report on progress, offering evidence and evaluation as required.
- Work with senior stakeholders to identify and agree how we will sustain this work into the next strategy period.
- Proactively develop our confidence and capability to improve access for disabled people; working through central specialist teams, internal regional consultancy and external specialists, partner organisations and user-groups to collaboratively create a suite of guidance, tool-kits, case studies and development opportunities.
- Integrate our approach to benchmarking expected standards of access for NT sites wider internal frameworks, alongside any relevant external benchmarking.
- Engage our supporters both on-line and at our places, working with and through user-groups.

- Experience of delivering people-centric interventions that improve access for disabled people in a historic environment.
- A track record of managing multiple stakeholders (both internal and external).
- Excellent people skills, able to work as part of a team in a multi-disciplinary organisation, negotiating, building trust and delivering a quality service.
- Experience of monitoring, evaluation and learning skills, able to identify blockers and work collaboratively to build solution.
