(plus 12.5% accrued holiday pay of £1.36 per hour) equates to £12.26 per hour

Overview
The Falkirk Family Centre has a nursery setting for Eligible 2s. The nursery capacity is for up to 15 children.
The Early Years Practitioner is responsible to the Assistant Manager. The applicant should have an SVQ3 or equivalent qualification in Childcare and have knowledge of Realising the ambition: Being Me and Curriculum for Excellence. You will have a responsibility for key children with the expectation of continually updating Childrens Record, including observations.

Specific Responsibilities Include
Provide quality day care sessions compliant with Care Inspectorate requirements including all monitoring and evaluation collation as required.
Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children in their early years.
Build and maintain a positive partnership with parents while promoting the benefits working collaboratively to support positive parent /child interactions.
Carry out regular observation, assessment, planning and recording of each childs progress.
Assist in the fostering of positive relationships and close working links with the range of professionals to promote access to wider integrated services for all families and children.
Contribute to maintaining appropriate positive behaviour strategies with children.
Work in conjunction with colleagues within the setting and outside agencies to meet the needs of individual children.
Keep up to date with best early years practice, local and national policy,
Undertake a share of other duties associated with the provision of childcare sessions including cleaning of resources and equipment, preparation of snack etc.
Personal Specifications
Essential
SVQ3 or equivalent qualification in Childcare
Desirable
Experience of working with 2 years old children. (Not essential).
Terms & Conditions
Period of appointment: This appointment is on a casual, paid hourly rate basis only. Confirmation of appointment is subject to satisfactory completion Disclosure Checks and receipt of references.
Salary: £10.90 per hour (plus 12.5% accrued holiday pay of £1.36 per hour) equates to £12.26 per hour
Hours of work: As agreed with Assistant Manager. hours per week, days to be agreed with the Manager.
Holidays: Holiday entitlement will accrue pro rata to the hours worked and be paid with your monthly salary.
Pension: If eligible you will be auto enrolled from your start date. OPFS pays 7% of your salary and you pay a minimum of 3%.
Training and support and supervision: You will receive induction training and frequent support in the first three months. Thereafter you will receive individual support and supervision and annual appraisals. Regular team meetings will be held, and staff have access to internal and external training.
