SCUK Environments Manager (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) is based in Redhill, Surrey and provides motor finance to a network of dealerships throughout the United Kingdom.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Environments Manager to join us on a 12 Month FTC to ensure SCUK’s new loans platform is technically ready for the migration by designing, implementing and running appropriate processes and controls for the environments, defect process and releases.

This is a hybrid based role which will require a mixture of working onsite at our Redhill office 1-2 days a week, and remote working from home.

Responsibilities will include:

Interface between the programme, the business and IT support teams to support testing and environment readiness activities. This includes:

  • Identifying the current environment gaps, documenting and provide a strategic plan for resolution within the Project Phoenix critical path.

  • Responsible for configuration lifecycle management.

  • Managing the configuration of each environment, including implementation, documenting and tracking environmental configurations.

  • Updating config and managing the alignment of environments where possible and documenting where differences exist

  • Working with Santander Technology to schedule, plan, implement and test infrastructure changes across all environments

  • Maintaining consistency of environments and creation of gates to control use.

  • Planning and communicating configuration changes with the programme team, business and broader programme stakeholders

  • Creating, documenting and running the governance for all environment changes.

  • Creating the MI to monitor and communicate the status of each environment.

  • Consistently evolving and documenting the approach with rigour and attention to detail.

  • Supporting the business teams in the transition for process and controls of the configuration management in their teams

What we’re looking for:

  • Extensive experience in configuration management or similar role

  • Extensive experience in IT infrastructure – networks, storage or above

  • Microsoft tools - Word, PowerPoint, Excel

  • Microfocus tools - Application Lifecycle Management

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong stakeholder engagement skills

  • Strong business process mapping and analysis experience

  • Exposure to or knowledge of .Net technologies

  • Knowledge of any of the scripting language would be highly desirable. (Eg. Python, SQL etc)

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Stakeholder management and conflict resolution skills

  • Proactive and able to work under own initiative

  • Ability to work across multiple activities adjusting to shifting priorities

  • Ability to take a detailed approach to complex problems by breaking it down into smaller chunks for communicating and solving

  • Be meticulous at creating and maintaining documentation
