Position: Financial Controller - Technical Services
Location: Glasgow, Head Office

Purpose of Role:
As the Financial Controller, you will work in conjunction with the board and fellow senior management to contribute to the overall success of the business and the achievement of the business objectives and results.
Responsibility for Accounting Function for UK Operation Technical Service. Incorporates full responsibility for all Statutory and Financial Accounting Processes & interfaces with other departments. To ensure the adherence to group accounting policy, corporate guidelines and external IFRS rules. Full responsibility for costs and expenditure up to signed level of responsibility. Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the end-to-end Purchase to Pay process, including procurement, inventory management, and financial coordination. Monitoring and optimizing financial Purchase to Pay performance, providing guidance to the team, serving as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders and suppliers, and ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Financial Accounts including responsibility for the balance sheet
- Audit (External and Internal)
- Liaison with Tchibo Coffee Service (TCS) Group Shared Service Function
- Responsible for compliance to internal guidelines, financial and non-financial
- Responsible for Accounting Teams for the UK Business Units
- Responsible for maintenance of the risk register monitoring and internal controls system
- Responsible for Intercompany Transfer Pricing Management and Cross charging
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to financial framework of the business and adherence to Corporate Legal guidelines
- Managing and overseeing the taxation affairs of the organisation and liaising with the external tax firm for specialist advice
- Manage procurement activities, including billing, sourcing, bidding, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.
- Coordinate with inventory management to ensure adequate stock levels and optimize inventory performance.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier invoices.
- Monitor and track delivery of goods and services to ensure timely receipt.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to Purchase to Pay process.
- Generate reports and perform data analysis to identify process improvement opportunities.
Experience
Essential
- Experience gained in an FMCG or similar B2B company
- Previous Team Leader with strong people management skills
Desirable:
- Previous position in a subsidiary of an international corporate organisation
- Experience in a Senior Finance role
Skills / Knowledge
Essential:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified
- Competent in all Microsoft Office packages, specifically Excel to an advanced level
- Experience of using SAGE / Microsoft Dynamics
- Excellent communication skills for presentation of information both verbally and in written format
- Strong project management skills
- People management with focus on successfully co-ordinating the work of others alongside own workload and motivating teams
- Attention to detail to evidence accuracy in all work produced and complete/follow through on all tasks
- Excellent interpersonal ability to forge productive working relationships which will advance the work of the team and aid remote working
Desirable:
- German proficiency, both spoken and written
- Commercial acumen to maintain up-to-date specialist cost and market knowledge to enhance credibility and assist influencing ability
