We are looking for a highly experienced and ambitious Head of Finance to join our team. Working within one of the largest and most complex healthcare providers in the UK, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the Management Accounting function continues to develop and provide value-adding support, reports and guidance to clinical and non-clinical services, the Corporate Management Team, Board, IJBs and Scottish Government.

Responsibilities:

As the Head of Finance, you will oversee both capital and revenue financial management and reporting across NHS Lothian including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis. You will work closely with senior executives, managers, and operational staff across the NHS Board to develop effective strategies for delivery of financial sustainability. Strong leadership and management skills are essential to drive forward and deliver a high quality finance function.

Specific duties will include:

• Monitoring the financial position of NHS Lothian and ensuring that any financial risks are identified and managed.
• Developing financial models and providing analysis for new service developments.
• Oversee the production of accurate and timely financial reports.
• Ensuring that all financial policies and procedures are in line with best practice and legal requirements.
• Facilitate a programme of financial efficiencies and cost savings across the organisation.
• Leading a team of finance professionals and ensuring that team members are motivated, supported, and developed.

We are looking for an experienced finance professional who can demonstrate a track record of success in a senior finance role.
