We are looking for a Junior Developer to join our Digital Innovation team based at Newcastle Innovation Centre in Longbenton, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. As part of Digital Innovation, you will develop and support solutions for P&G’s Fabric Care Research & Development team used to: capture, report, and visualize data to help develop the next generation of industry leading products.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO:

  • Drive development of our applications and perform related system configuration. Develop and manage requirements to ensure business needs are met.

  • Revise existing implementations to improve code quality in partnership with R&D and IT experts.

  • Create and manage testing documentation to ensure systems are fully compliant and maintained in a validated state. Continuously seek areas to improve efficiencies and share best practices.

  • Collaborate with key technology vendors to deliver strategic solutions.

  • Make recommendations based on emerging trends, expansion opportunities, and information security threats.

  • Develop future facing applications focused on re-application and integration.

  • Develop R&D business processes competence to help find opportunities and propose effective technology choices.

  • Complete external and internal training to ensure the Digital Innovation team achieve maximum efficiency to continue to develop systems and bring best in class solutions that enhance R&D decision making.

Qualifications

  • Liaise with clients and translate their business requirements and objectives into functional technology that benefits their organisation

  • Develop, evaluate, and test fit-for-purpose applications

  • Support users

  • Facilitate disaster recovery and business continuity

  • Cloud development experience, using:

    • JS, Python, C#, .Net

    • Microsoft Azure

  • Effective communication, including:

    • Excellent verbal and written English business skills

    • Confidence communicating with stakeholders from entry level to upper management

    • Demonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring others
