Hours - 37.5
Location - Derby
Rate - £24.00 - £28.00 PAYE Per Hour (Based on experience).

Responsible for ensuring delivery of a high quality, comprehensive, effective and efficient payroll that provides accurate and timely payment of all employee remuneration & allowances, and Pensions services provision, in accordance with statutory obligations, Department of Health guidance, Trust policies, National (e.g. NHS Terms & Conditions) and local terms and conditions

To ensure that robust payroll processes & procedures are in place in order to minimise the risk of overpayments and where overpayments do occur to ensure that these are recovered quickly and efficiently and in line with relevant legislation and policies

Responsible for ensuring that all statutory requirements in relation to payroll and pensions are met thus avoiding the need for manual intervention at financial year-end, and the imposition of fines.

To take responsibility for ensuring complex pay related issues are resolved promptly and ensuring that employees and managers are kept informed of progress with queries and issues.

To manage the resolution of complaints, complex payroll or pensions queries and related Electronic Staff Record (ESR) system issues in conjunction with relevant stakeholders such Finance and HR colleagues, ensuring any complaints are handled positively, with prompt resolution and response.

To maintain a detailed and extensive knowledge of developments & best practice within the NHS, public and private sectors.

To interpret and apply national and local terms and conditions of service, Trust agreements and Pensions scheme regulations to the payment of salaries and wages, ensuring relevant staff are advised of statutory and other changes at the earliest opportunity.

Provide regular updates and reports to key stakeholders relating to the performance of the payroll and pensions service, including monitoring of KPIs, escalating issues/concerns as appropriate.

Take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of staff and activities relating to the delivery of the technical payroll service, including assisting with the recruitment and discipline of staff.

Plan, and where appropriate manage, resource requirements to develop and implement relevant processes and procedures
