Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist or Psychotherapist to lead a specialist pathway project to enable appropriate and safe discharge of patients with personality disorder and complex needs from ward environments into the community. The post holder will coordinate clinical initiatives to ensure appropriate coordination of needs-based care for this patient cohort. The postholder will ensure that service users in adult inpatient and adult community mental health services receive provision of high-quality clinical, counselling psychology or psychotherapy services to enable progression from ward stay through to treatment in the community. They will coordinate the safe discharge of people with complex needs from adult in-patient wards into community-based urgent care and adult community teams.
You will hold your own caseload of patients, including highly specialist treatments for complex presentations such as EUPD, complex trauma and comorbid conditions, and provide specialist advice and consultation to other professionals on the unit and other agencies.
You will work closely with the PD&CN MDT assistant psychologists, the 7 Multiprofessional Approved/Responsible Clinician Trainees, and various EMDR specialists and DBT specialists to encourage safe and meaningful care coordination and support, as well as clinical intervention, for patients progressing from in-patient care into the community.
