At the NHS, we are reminded every day of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible pattern. In addition, although the role advertised may have a ‘home’ office base indicated, we remain committed to supporting flexibility around workplace locations. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
The successful applicant will be an NHS employee and may therefore have contact with vulnerable service users. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been necessary to take significant steps to protect the health and safety of our staff, service users and those attending our sites. Unless exempt, we encourage and support staff to be vaccinated as this remains the best line of defence against COVID-19.
We are recruiting a Senior Counsellor with skills in the practical application of NICE recommended modalities in particular Interpersonal Psychotherapy. The post holder will provide both individual and group supervision for IPT therapists within the team and IPT supervision training would be provided to support them in doing so. It is important that the post holder has been qualified at practitioner level for a minimum of 1 year in this approach and are experienced enough to support trainee IPT Practitioners offering the full 16 session IPT treatment model having worked across the board in all four focal areas.
They would carry a small caseload of their own IPT clients to continue to keep their practice up to date. If qualified in another modality such as CfD (Counselling for Depression) then this would also be utilised within the service in seeing supervisees practicing from this approach if required. The post holder would also take on other senior duties within the team to support the Counselling and Psychotherapy Professional Lead and be part of the duty rota for the service as well as undergo complex assessments. We welcome applications from IPT Accredited psychotherapists or those with dual training in Counselling for Depression and IPT.
We are excited to offer this as a remote post. There will be an expectation for you to attend face to face commitments in Cornwall up to 5 times a year as part of your contract, this includes your induction into the service.
