We have an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the South West and take accountability for the Development, Implementation of all pre and post contract strategies, commercial functions and contract reporting.

Within the group, Wates Building Services (WBS) can combine greater commerciality with an integrated approach across our supply chain.

This replaces traditional M&E procurement on some of Wates Construction’s projects, working with specialist sub-contractors to implement a tailored approach on a project-by-project basis. This in-house platform complements our established external supply chain and with our specialist in-house WBS technical teams fully integrated with the Wates Construction team, we can deliver greater value.

Key Accountabilities will include:

• Interact with the project team to maximise project procurement, production and commercial strategies
• Implement project strategies to maximise turnover, cash, profit, customer satisfaction and repeat business
• Ensure Wates main contractual obligations and or strategies are executed and regularly reviewed
• Regularly review subcontract safety audits prior to payment authorisation
• Regularly review project accountabilities and project objectives facilitating a change in process where appropriate
• Liaise with client and project teams to maximise group CR policies and/or opportunities
• Ensure Wates main contractual obligations and or strategies are executed and regularly reviewed
• Ensure all Wates subcontract management / process obligations are complete with particular reference to Procurement, Measurement and Valuation, Contractual instructions / notices / orders and complete and submit Group / Business Unit report

To be successful in this role you will have knowledge of Construction methods, technologies, measurement and valuation.
