Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic and enthusiastic paediatric team working in the community delivering speech and language therapy interventions for children with speech, language and communication needs.

Based at the Kingsley Centre in central Southend you will join a team of Speech and Language Therapists and Speech and Language Therapy assistants to deliver a suite of programmes/interventions to support the speech, language and communication development of children and young people aged 0 - 18.

The children and young people supported will have speech, language and/or communication needs related to developmentally delayed or disordered profiles.

The post is for 30 hours per week across four days (specific working days can be agreed with the successful applicant).

You will receive all necessary training to deliver programmes/interventions from the Speech and Language Therapist you work alongside and from the very experienced Speech and Language Therapy Assistants already in post across the service.

You will be responsible for delivering packages of intervention with children and young people with speech, language and/or communication needs at a clinic base . You will have direct supervision from a qualified Speech and Language Therapist who will set the intervention targets that you will be working on with the children you see.

We have excellent links with other professionals within the health service and education and robust clinical supervision and support networks in place.
