An exciting opportunity is now available as the Studio Lead in the Reid building at the Glasgow School of Art. This post is an essential first point of contact for students to support safe studio practice in the Design school. They will work with technical areas, academic staff and students to advise on safe making processes and support activities in the studios. They will oversee a small team of studio assistants planning sufficient cover for safe working during building opening hours and ensuring that the studios are maintained safely in line with best practice and responsive to programme and student needs.
Working as part of the wider Technical Support Department the role will offer some technical advice to students in studio-based practice and will understand the range of technical resources available at GSA to support students to make work.
This is a one-year post to cover a secondment.
You should be qualified to HND level and have experience in an area related to Art and Design.
Some regular evening and weekend work will be required as part of a duty rota which will be developed in conjunction with all successful applicants.
