Job Description
We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic, motivated individual, with an interest in patient care and nutrition, to support the Dietetic team. This established post provides support to the Dietitians in their work with patients in Dr Grays Hospital, Community Hospitals, care homes and domiciliary settings. The post involves direct contact with patients, delivering group sessions and requires someone who is keen to work proactively as part of our team and with multidisciplinary team members’ e.g. nurses, carers, catering staff. In addition to clinical support work you will participate and support Dietitians in delivering nutrition initiatives related to health improvement and support the development and delivery of nutrition training events to other professionals and groups.
We are looking for individuals with good organisational and communication skills, computer skills and flair for presentations/training. You will require to have an empathetic, mature and caring approach and ideally, will have some experience in the health and social care field. You should be able to work independently in a busy environment and as part of a team. Training and clinical supervision will be provided.
You will join a team of 12 Dietitians, 2 Dietetic Support Workers (one of which is this post) and 2 Administrative staff who work as an integrated team delivering services across the Moray Health and Social Care Partnership. A structured induction process has been developed and all staff participate in the NHS TURAS appraisal and development scheme with regular formal supervision.
