Job Purpose:

This role will work on the NPAS Upgrades Project, Its purpose is to lead the user acceptance testing (UAT) preparation and execution activities on the project. This will involve planning, preparation, coordination and supporting of all user acceptance testing activities.

The UAT Lead will provide testing expertise to the project, ensure robust test governance and quality gates, and provide leadership across the UAT phase on the project.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the UAT Schedule which will support delivery against the defined project outcomes.
  • Lead education of the business users/testers on agreed test strategy and approaches.
  • Provide support to the business on the creation of robust end-to-end business test scenarios.
  • Produce UAT Schedule in alignment with the Project Plan, whilst ensuring availability and buy-in.
  • Co-ordinate UAT execution activities across all lines of business, as well as business units (i.e. Underwriting, Operations, Claims & Finance), as per the UAT Schedule.
  • Management of defects raised during UAT execution until resolution, in accordance with the agreed Defect Management Process.
  • Track progress of UAT execution and produce Daily Status Reports for circulation amongst Project and Business Stakeholders.
  • Implementation of UAT Entry/Exit Quality Gates, including the facilitation of any remedial tasks/actions.
  • Chair regular UAT Progress Meetings with the delegated Business Testers, IT Rep and Business Analyst.
  • Produce UAT Completion Report.


Performance Objectives:

  • Firm understanding of all the project level integrations and ensuring the UAT environment includes all required systems, components, and test data.
  • Ensure all prerequisites for UAT execution are met, and execution proceeds in accordance with the UAT schedule.


Skills and Experience Specification:

Essential:

  • Experience of UAT management/coordination. Recent Specialty Insurance experience is vital.
  • Experience working with policy administration and claims processing systems.
  • Complete understanding of the full policy lifecycle (i.e. new business/mid-term endorsement/renewal/cancellation) and claims lifecycle (i.e. FNOL / verification /reserves/payments/recovery).
  • Experience working with multiple Lines of Business and across the relevant business units (Underwriting, Operations, Claims and Finance) within a single UAT Phase.
  • Experience of transitioning from on premise to cloud solution(s)
  • Previous experience integrating Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills, able to summarise a complicated data set into meaningful progress reports.
  • Experience with industry standard test management tools (MS Azure DevOps, MicroFocus Application Lifecycle Management Octane etc.)
  • Proficient at defect management workflows and processes.
  • ISEB/ISTQB or equivalent certification in testing.


Desirable:

  • Recent experience working with Sequel (now known as Verisk) Eclipse and Claims systems.
  • Knowledge of non-functional testing frameworks and practices, specifically performance testing.
