Helen began her performing career at a young age in her home town of Bundaberg in Queensland, starring as Young Cosette in Les Miserables and Liesl in The Sound of Music.

Helen then spent several years in the ACT theatre scene, where she continued to win roles showcasing her acting, singing and dancing capabilities. Highlights of her time in Canberra include an award-nominated performance as Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical the Musical (which she also choreographed) and a side-splittingly funny portrayal of Miss Flannery in Thoroughly Modern Millie.

As director, Helen led an ensemble cast of high school students in a production of Angela Betzien’s Children of the Black Skirt to critical acclaim, culminating in the production winning Best Youth or School Play, Best Ensemble and Best Director.

Helen moved to Sydney in January 2009 and has since featured in several national TV commercials (including New Idea, Masterfoods and Aldi), short films, corporate films, plays (including Katie Pollock’s A Girl Called Red, featuring music by Rhys Muldoon), musicals, a TV pilot, and a feature film. She performs professionally as YellowKat in the YellowKat Show in Sydney and surrounding areas. When not performing, Helen teaches singing and piano, and is currently working on her debut full-length album as a solo performing artist, following her two EPs.
