NHS Tayside is a teaching Board with an annual budget in excess of £1.2 billion and a total staffing of approximately 13,500, serving a population of 420,000 living in urban and rural communities across the region. We also provide services across North-East Fife as well as Regional Centres for certain specialties.
NHS Tayside is offering this opportunity for an exceptional individual to join us at a time of unprecedented change, redesign and reform for health and care services and the healthcare workforce. We have a range of specialist Workforce Teams operating across Tayside providing expert and highly complex professional services. The post holder will be personally providing visionary strategic leadership support to those within the Workforce Directorate.
Bringing a fresh, forward-thinking and collaborative approach to developing and driving high performance and innovative practice, the successful candidate will be responsible for operational and strategic leadership across all aspects of the employee journey. Leading the professional delivery of Workforce Directorate Business Partner services, Recruitment, Medical Staffing, Organisational Development, Occupational Health & Safety, Payroll, Workforce Systems, Workforce Planning and Workforce Information.
As our Director of Workforce, you will direct, shape and implement the recently approved NHS Tayside Three-year Workforce Strategy and drive forward the change required to implement NHS Tayside’s Talent & Culture Frameworks and the Board Workforce Plan. The post is key to delivering the Board’s Staff Governance and Remuneration Strategies to ensure high level of governance and delivery across the key areas of workforce activity. The role requires close working with the Board of NHS Tayside, the Chief Executive and Staff Partners, to ensure NHS Tayside continues to develop and implement employee engagement strategies which promote a culture of partnership working and ensure a strong employee voice at all levels of the organisation.
You will be a highly experienced individual, with extensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of workforce management, strategy and policy development. You will have a record of leading and implementing change, working within an organisation with multiple staffside partners and ensuring the highest quality Human Resources support is delivered. You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record, working at a senior level in a HR/Workforce leadership role in an organisation of similar scale and complexity whether within the NHS or wider public sector.
