Position Summary
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Manager to join our team based at our Nestle beverage Factory in Dalston, Cumbria.

Nestlé Dalston Factory in Cumbria is the European Centre for cappuccino and creamers producing a range of beverage products. These are produced through a highly automated PLC controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines. It is continually developing and expanding leading brands such as Nescafé Frothy Coffee, Azera, Aero Hot Chocolate and Coffeemate

A day in the life of…an Electrical Maintenance Manager

We’re looking for a qualified Electrical Maintenance Manager to support the factory engineering team. You will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the electrical infrastructure on site (everything from buildings through to production machinery).


As the Electrical Maintenance Manager, you’ll act as a subject matter experience for electrical matters on site.


Other key day-to-day activities will be:


Maintaining the electrical infrastructure on site. Handling electrical compliance (statutory UK law for electricity at work regulations 1989). Electrical testing such as
  • PAT testing,
  • Emergency Light Testing
  • Fixed Equipment Inspection and Testing

  • Assisting the projects team with electrical upgrades and being the subject matter expert for the site on electrical engineering matters, to ensure all comply with NUK & site standards
  • Assist the maintenance engineers on complex electrical breakdowns and work closely with our Automation team
  • Ensure the implementation of Electrical Asset Maintenance and TPM-PM to deliver Asset Intensity to meet business requirements
  • Hold the position of Senior Electrical Duty Holder and ensure Electrical Technicians and apprentices are sufficiently appointed, mentored, and fully supported.
  • Document and roll out site standards for electrical installations at Dalston, ensuring compliance to these standards.

What will make you successful?

To be successful in this key role you would need to be a fully qualified Electrical Engineer, preferably with experience working in a manufacturing maintenance environment. You’ll be comfortable leading a team and working with multiple stakeholders.


Key attributes we are looking for are:

  • Fully qualified (Degree, HNC, ONC, CEng, Apprenticeship etc.) Electrical Engineer, preferably from a manufacturing background, (Senior Electrical Project Engineer, Electrical Maintenance Manager, Electrical Contracts Manager).
  • Experience in management of Contractors and people management.
  • City and Guilds 2396 Design, Erection and Verification
  • City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing
  • BS7671 18th Edition
