Do you love working in procurement? Are you currently in a buying role looking for the next step, or currently a senior buyer looking for a new challenge? Do you have the knack for efficiently managing a Procure to Pay (P2P) process to sustain operations within an organisation, considering price, quality, and delivery as well as ensuring continuity of supply? If the answer is "Yes", then Banham are on the lookout for a Senior Buyer who will play a key role in shaping the best- performing and sustainable supplier base capable for the business by actively engaging through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), leading sourcing projects, and supporting the overall Procurement Category strategy for the business.

This is very much an integral role and you will need to balance workload between tactical and strategic activities, whilst ensuring imminent business priorities associated with the delivery of our products and services are met.

What can you bring to Banham?

Your experience and “hands on” approach to understand and deal with current challenges, whilst endorisng a continuous improvement mindset will aid you in putting solutions in place and ensure new processes are implemented which will improve efficiencies across the team and department. Along with this you will also be able to:

  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
  • Support the relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities
  • Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organisation
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
  • Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities
  • Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
  • Prepare and raise purchase orders
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships with continous good communications
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process
  • Conduct research for new components and suppliers
  • Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues
  • Actively engage with other team; Installation, Sales, Technical Managers, to gather product knowledge and business insight to help build the Procurement category strategy.
